Although listed by the American Translators Association as an institution offering translation courses, this is limited to a certificate in literary translation. The College of Arts and Sciences, however, offers a BA, MA, and PhD in Germanic Studies:

The University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences has a Department of Cinema and Comparative Literature which has run a graduate program in literary translation for the past 40 years:

Although listed by the American Translators Association as an institution offering translation courses, I find only a program where you can learn German language at their Department of World Languages & Culture, although this can be combined with a wide variety of other programs, including engineering and business:

MASSACHUSETTS

University of Massachusetts

UMass offers undergraduate degrees in German & Scandinavian studies, as well as an MA and PhD in German.

The university also runs the UMass Translation Center offering a graduate program in translation studies:

MINNESOTA
